Elevate Your Halloween Feast with the Ultimate Hatch Guacamole Witch Dip

As the leaves begin to turn and a crisp chill fills the air, there’s an undeniable buzz of excitement in my home. October isn’t just another month; it’s the official start of “party season,” culminating in a highly anticipated Halloween-themed birthday celebration for my son. This time of year is pure magic: costumes are meticulously planned, our house transforms into a whimsical haunted haven, and the rich palette of autumn colors sets a truly enchanting scene. Most importantly, it ushers in that glorious, cozy feeling we all adore – sweater weather!

Halloween parties, especially those combined with a birthday celebration, demand a spectacular spread of food. Our philosophy for party fare is simple yet essential: it must be easy to handle, minimize the need for excessive plasticware, radiate fun, and, above all, be absolutely delicious. While sugary treats often take center stage, I always ensure there’s a generous selection of savory appetizers to balance the sweetness and delight adult palates.

The Irresistible Allure of Guacamole for Any Celebration

Among the myriad appetizer options, a flavorful guacamole consistently stands out as a crowd-pleaser. It’s a culinary chameleon, perfect for any season or occasion, whether it’s a sweltering summer barbecue or a chilly autumn gathering. People simply adore the communal experience of dipping, sharing, and savoring this creamy, vibrant spread. For our Halloween festivities, I love to introduce a spicy kick, making it an ideal choice for the grown-ups who appreciate a little extra zest.

Introducing Brujilda: The Hatch Guacamole Dip Witch

This year, get ready to be bewitched by our newest party sensation: Brujilda, the Hatch Guacamole Dip Witch. She’s not just a dip; she’s a personality, a fiery redhead with an undeniable spicy charm. Her intricate features are designed to captivate and amuse: menacing yet delicious roasted garlic clove teeth, framed by ruby-red lips crafted from vibrant red pepperazzi. Her wide, discerning eyes are made from beautiful olive and hard-boiled egg halves, giving her an intelligent and slightly mischievous gaze. To complete her enchanting visage, a single cornichon serves as her distinctive, witchy nose, adding a touch of playful ghoulishness. Brujilda is truly a centerpiece that promises to spark conversations and inspire smiles.

Creating Brujilda the Hatch Guacamole Dip Witch is surprisingly simple, designed to be a stress-free addition to your party planning. The beauty of this recipe lies in its assembly-only nature—absolutely no cooking required! This convenience is thanks to Sprouts Farmers Market, my go-to destination for all the fresh, high-quality ingredients needed to bring Brujilda to life. Sprouts’ olive bar, in particular, proved to be an unexpected treasure trove, offering a diverse array of unique garnishes that formed most of her striking facial features. I was particularly thrilled to discover the perfectly roasted garlic cloves, which transform into her wonderfully “gnarly” teeth, adding that essential touch of spooky authenticity.

For those who prefer a milder flavor profile, adapting Brujilda is effortlessly simple. You can easily substitute the fiery Hatch Guacamole with a regular, ready-made version from Sprouts. Alternatively, for a truly personalized touch, mashing your own fresh avocados allows for complete control over the seasoning and spice level. Sprouts makes it easy to customize your dip to suit every taste preference.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 3 containers Sprouts Brand Hatch Guacamole
  • 1 hard boiled egg, halved
  • 2 Sprouts Olive Bar large green olives, halved
  • 2 Sprouts Olive Bar Kalamata olives, halved
  • 2 cups shredded carrots
  • 1 cornichon
  • 1 Sprouts Olive Bar red pepperazzi pepper, halved
  • 3 Sprouts Olive Bar roasted garlic cloves
  • 21 ½ inch slices red onion
  • Blue corn chips

Instructions

  1. Spread the Sprouts Brand Hatch Guacamole evenly into an oval shallow bowl, forming the base of your witch’s face.
  2. Carefully place the hard-boiled egg halves in the middle of the dip, with the cut side facing up to expose the golden yolks, forming the witch’s eyes.
  3. Place the large green olive halves onto the egg yolks, cut side down. Then, gently tuck small pieces of Kalamata olives into the center of the green olives to create pupils, giving the witch a wide-eyed, slightly surprised look.
  4. Arrange the shredded carrots on each side of the guacamole dip, stopping about three-quarters of the way around, just beyond where the hard-boiled eggs are placed. Arrange a few more carrot shreds directly above the hard-boiled eggs to resemble bangs, giving her a wild, fiery hairstyle.
  5. Position a cornichon approximately half an inch below the hard-boiled egg eyes to form her distinctive, pointed nose.
  6. Arrange the red pepperazzi pepper halves, cut side down, below the nose to create her ruby-red lips. You can position them slightly open for a more dramatic or cackling expression.
  7. Insert the roasted garlic cloves between the red pepper halves, resembling gnarly, spooky teeth that peek out from her lips.
  8. Carefully place the slices of red onion above the hard-boiled egg eyes, adding detail to her eyebrows and enhancing her expressive face.
  9. On the last fourth of the bowl, opposite her face, arrange blue corn chips in the form of a pointed witch hat, completing her iconic look.
  10. Serve your magnificent Hatch Guacamole Dip Witch immediately and delight your guests with this spooky and delicious creation!
